I wish my engineering class would have been taught like this English class. In my Engineering class the Professor seemed to expect us how to write a perfect lab report right away with no fundamentals or basic techniques. That would be like having to write a research paper within the first week of class. There would be no way to actually write a good paper unless you wrote a lot in highschool and knew all the basics. I think this class did a very good job building up to the final product, and wish the Engineering class would do something similar.

Reading Assignments for Class
I did not like reading the books for class. I am glad that we were forced to read the assignments and the idea of a quiz really led to many students actually reading. I thought that the book was very boring and fairly basic, although it did have a lot of helpful information. Looking back now, I wish I would have read more of the book, that way I could have learned how to write even better. I was just thinking how boring and dumb the reading was, when really it was helping me learn more and teaching me to become a better reader and writer. I thought that the MLA section was the most helpful section with the reading and taught me the proper ways to cite and write a bib.
Writing Assignments
I liked that we had to write several assignments this year and not just the research paper. I honestly think the most beneficial to me was the annotated bib. I had never written anything like it before but it allowed me to gather information and showed me how to look at resources from now on. It helped in identifying which resources would be the best, and that sometimes you shouldn’t just read a couple resources and get your information, that you need to review more resources even if you are not going to actually use them in your paper. I think the annotated bib really helped when writing the research paper, and should have been what we were thinking and telling ourselves when researching anyway.
Writing Center
I never went to the writing center for any help due to having a busy schedule. Did everyone find the writing center to be very useful? I wish the writing center was not as crammed at the end of the semester when everyone needed help on their essays. The one thing I liked the most was Professor Ludeker giving extra credit for attending the writing center. I think this encouraged many students to go and not only did it help them with their writing but also with their grade. I wish the writing center was in a larger building or had some more help so that there would always be help available.
The Course in General
I would like to thank Professor Ludeker for everything she taught me in this class. I found this class to be very helpful and develop my skills as a writer and researcher. I think she did a very good job teaching us the skills to be better writers. I know it seemed like we were learning basic and almost childish things for a while, but in the end I think what we learned really helped us. I think she did a great job with the essays and making us write each one, because many other friends I have only had to write the research paper and many were confused and lost on what to do. I didn’t think that we seemed to be lost or confused throughout any of the process.
Last Class
Although I was unable to attend the last day of class, I will say the class as a whole was very tough. I worked harder in this class then I did in any other class. I learned a lot about writing and vital researching skills that will further help me in the future. I dedicated a lot of hard time and work towards my final research paper. It was a hard paper to write, to the point where I kind of wished I picked a different topic. Overall though I did a lot of research and used a lot of different sources that all together helped me produce a well written research paper that I was happy to turn in.
End of semester
This english course was highly educational. I feel as if my english courses in high school focused a lot on just reading novels and analyizing them. This did not help in understanding the faults in my own writing. I feel more confident in the structure of my papers due to this class. Before, I wouldn’t pay much attention into breaking down my thoughts and orgainizing them in such a matter. The people in the class were great also, everyone was so invovled and cared to offer their opinion to keep the class flowing.

Last Week of Class
This was the final week of the class, and we handed in our final project. It was quite the busy week trying to pull everything together not only this class but for my others. I will say that I spent a great deal of time adding to and revising my final paper, since it still needed a lot of work. I missed Tuesday’s class, and also the peer review, but hopefully I caught most of my errors during my editing revision. I think it turned out as well as to be expected, and I learned very much about my topic. I of course learned plenty of information about English this semester, including appeals, synthesis, and how to manipulate source information. I do believe that this course helped my writing, but I will admit English is not my favorite subject at all and it is nice to be done the semester.

Last Class
It was a bittersweet goodbye yesterday. I think everyone was able to take something positive away from this class. At first I was skeptical of how this class would help me, and now I believe that my writing has improved. Good luck to all of you on other finals, maybe I’ll see some of you next semester!
The last Day of Class
I really enjoyed Eng 101-R with you all. I plan on taking the Adv Comp class that she is teaching next semester because she was motivating. Her low tolerance on plagiarism was in fact scary. To see my classmates and even peer review partner not show up to class was like O my god that could probably be ME. That might have also been my motivation to make sure my behind was covered and all my work was properly citied because if i fell through the cracks I wouldn’t be happy.
